We visit the one in Lakewood, nice, simple decoration with a great and delicious buffet. It has a great variety of dishes that are constantly replace it, for sure you are eating something recently cooked. It goes from Hummos, Tabouli, dolmas and Lebni, to grape leaves, coriander potatoes, Falafel, Lamb chops and much more. Fresh made Pita bread is always warm. The only limitation is on desserts, your options are fruit or rice pudding.

Great tasty trip to mediterranean cuisine.

The Porch

The Porch at Henderson. There is something really cool about this restaurant, the menu is big enough, the portions are big, the pice is right, the taste in all the dishes is very good. The locations is perfect with a big parking lot which is always good, and the place itself is very simple, open and with a great atmosphere.

Love the Steak Salad, the Burgers are good and if you want to feel like you are having something healthy there's the Chicken Melt sandwich, one of my favorites with grilled chicken breast and melted cheese and your options of fries, cole slow or fruit. Something curious for all of you that don't drink beer or the typical margaritas like me, they do have one of the best sangria in town.

Wild About Harry's

Ok. Tell your wife that you want to check something in Crate and Barrel in Knox Henderson -of course they will be already in the car by that time-. Once you get there, just sneak to the front door and go to that colorful place with a giant hot dog right across the street.

Try the Texas -of course- Mustard, Chili, Onions + Cheese. Finger licking good. The meal comes with some yummy, crunchy skinny french fries. All of them are great, I've tried them all and I just have to say that I love this place as I love Penélope Cruz.

These ones are, in my opinion, the Best in Dallas. They are a classic in the Knox-Henderson area.

The Price? Let me say it this way: an enemy for recession. The value meal for that Texas Dog is $6.79.

Burguesa Burger

Burguesa, WTF? This is what they claim:

We love burgers. We love Mexican food. So we created the Mexican burger.

Burgers looks great, at least they are big, but the place is a big disappointing. Judge it yourself.

Sammy's BBQ

Sammy's BBQ. Located in 2126 Leonard St. One of the best BBQ's restaurant in downtown/uptown. You need to try the ribs. The sides are really good because you can find more than just the regular cole slow and beans. They have a great spinach salad, the avocado one is good as well. Potato Casserole and fried Okra, are good as well.

Located in 2728 North Harwood, right after you pass the Rolex building Marie-Gabrielle is the best

food, great service, and the price, just right. The Burgers are a hit. They change their menu every day, and goes all the way from salads, soups to specialty dishes.

Yesterday I have a Tai Chicken wrap to to vary from the classic burger and it was really good. I visited their website and I discover that you can rent the garden for events in case you need it. 10 out of 10 pionts.

French mex

Or more like a taste revolution. This restaurant was a very nice surprise. The pepito Steak sandwich was very well devour and the ice tea was cold, fresh and plenty. I can tell by the eyes and expressions of my fellow lunchers, that they were really delight by the tender of their meat and the mixture of flavors. I will have to go back to try the Chiles en Nogada, and maybe his time, I will have 3 or 4 of their amazing Sangrias. After all, if you can't beat the heat, might as well drown it. Fumario.

Soley at Henderson

I found out about this restaurant about 6 months ago, since then I became a fan of several of their dishes. French-Mex Fusion make it very unique. I love their ceviches, Mussels Soley with light cream and Chorizo, if this sounds weird to you wait, there's more, Chile en Nogada (poblano pepper) filled with duck, Spinach Salad with goat cheese breaded with Chicharrón instead of bread (pork skin). For main entrees I have try, Pork Chops with marinated in Chile Ancho, La trucha (trout) with Nopalitos and cilantro sauce Crepes, Steak and French Fries, and for me, the best of the best, Duck breast over mashed sweet potatoes and a side of spinach with bacon, olalájúa.

The only think I don't care that much are the desserts but the chocolate cake made without flour (attention Atkins' followers) is good. 9.5 out of 10.

PS I try their lunch, it was good but the service extremelly slow, I'm sure they'll fixed.

el tizoncito

far far away from Dallas we found El Tizoncito right at Illinois ave. The first time I came the experience was really bad. But my craving for a real tacos make me comeback, the result? It was great. We order first Cebollitas Preparadas (onions with seasonings) taste was good but they didn't came as it use to be, the whole onion but in slices. Alambre al Pastor was next, really good as well as the Bistek (steak) Tacos. The only think they need to work on it, the tortillas, not the best ones. The salsa was good as well. At the end I try a bite of Flan de Caramelo. Good consistency, great homemade taste. I will give 9 out of 10 points.

Pei Wei Asian Diner

Pei Wei, located in the corner of McKinney Ave and Pearl. Pei Wei is a scaled down, informal version of P.F. Chang's. It's a hard place to review, considering it's a big chain restaurant. Yet the service is quick, the food is good and the place has a good ambience. I had a chicken fried rice bowl, it was okay. The size was generous, I didn't finish the plate. The good thing: I spent under $10 for the dish plus a soda. Good deal.

Sammy's BBQ

Sammy's BBQ (http://www.sammysbbq.com) is definitely my favorite BBQ restaurant close to Downtown Dallas and surrounding areas. The website says it's family owned, and it shows. The menu is classic Texas BBQ. You can't go wrong with the beef brisket, just delicious. Plus the sauce is always dead on - not spicy, yet flavorful. The side dishes are fantastic too, with enough choices to please anyone. Today, I had potato casserole and fried Zucchini. 

The decor is rustic and relaxed. Big, comfortable tables and chairs. A nice air-conditioned dining room plus a huge terrace for those days of forgiving weather. If you're feeling like having BBQ, Sammy's is your best choice.

The only perfect 10 was the fact that is Friday. Other than that, the hooters's girls were as sour as their ranch and their smiles as sparse as their boneless wings. But hey, we all know that it is almost impossible to go wrong with cold beer and colder girls. 2.5 out of 5.

Is like Carlos Santana playing with Maná, for some people is great, for others... not that much. I agree with Armani Xchain del cono sur, inconsistency is the problem, I ordered a Cachapa with Carne mechada and melted cheese and this time was really good. I add salsa and on top (just the way I like it), the combination between the sweetness of the corn and the spicy touch of the Salsa creates a really great one.

I also share a Arepa Reina, kind of mexican Gordita filled with avocado chicken mix, it was really, really good.

El Zaguán

Located at Oak Lawn and Routh, very close to Downtown Dallas, this eclectic café/restaurant is promising yet somewhat of a disappointment. The menu looks great, with typical plates from Venezuela, Colombia, Argentina among others. The photo shown here is their Venezuelan Cachapa, a sort of pancake made of corn which I ordered filled with beef, cheese, peppers and onions. The Cachapa, when well prepared, is delicious. Yet this restaurant is inconsistent in quality, taste and service. Sometimes it's great, sometimes it sucks. It has the potential, they just need to improve service and consistency. You go and try it, maybe you catch them in a good day.

I think I went on one of those good days that the Zaguán has, I ordered a Veggie Arepa and it was really good, also somebody share with me an Arepa Reina and Ecuador Chicken (II think that was the name), everything was delicious, and well cooked in a relaxed and fresh ambient I give it 3 points of 5.

El Zaguán is the place to go when Hispanics want to feel at home and that is not because of the food, is more like every single table in the place is speaking in Spanish at our very peculiar loud volume and laughs everywhere, I think it could be like a “Happy Place”

The only thing I doesn’t like was the coffee they said it is Colombian, but I suppose they put lots of water on it or they overheated it, because you can’t get the Colombian coffee taste at all (it supposed to be really good).

I'm sorry this has to be my first review. I liked "La Taverna". The food is good, the service friendly, the menu is interesting and affordable. Yet one suggestion: for dessert, order a Peptobismol. Say no more.

I had the soup of the day, a tasty "Tomato bisque" and the "Rissoto a la Vin Santo", with asparagus, prosciutto and pecorino. It was very good, too much asparagus in my opinion. All around, in a scale on 1 to 5, my verdict: 3.5

Fumario:

I liked the Maserati parked outside. I liked the olive oil and balsamic vinegar. I liked the service. I liked the Pizza. I didn't like the fact that Luis thought the croutons were old.

Fito:

Good selection of beers although I should be taking red wine but the risotto was awesome, a little bit to much, I think that 2/3 of the plate could be enough. Have to come back cause many of the plates on the menu makes me want to try them, also Fumario’s Gambas pizza was RIIIICCCCAAAAAA!!!!

Mexi-Can:

The Food is very good and the prices are not bad either. The ambiance is better for dinner although we had the place to ourselves. The Garganelli pasta, very fresh, very subtle. Overall two thumbs up!!

The Taverna Pizzeria And Risottoria in Armstrong Avenue has great tasting Italian food, that’s prepared with extreme care and fresh quality ingredients, and it shows once you take the first bite. The Risotto ai Frutti di Mare was a joy to eat, a satisfying portion that won’t leave you feeling Texas size. The ambience is casual, not dark like your usual Italian Restaurant and it’s decorated with good taste. Try the pizzas, prepared with thin, soft dough that makes you feel closer to Rome.

Tiff:

I had the Paglia e Fieno. SO good... and i think i'm a picky eater. Great service and the prices weren't bad. Nice atmosphere, maybe a better place for dinner. and did i say the service was good?

"Taverna-culos" this term apply to those who really like this restaurant like me. As usual I ordered Risotto with Chicken and Balsamic and it was really good, my friend Lamb Gardel got the same but also got some curious reaction on his underwear. Great service. My score is 3.5 out of 5
